Message	a dual cat back with 2.5" piping will have a total area of 9.81sq inches a single catback with 3.5" has a total area of 9.61sq in and a 3.75" will have a 11sq inches . A single catback weights less.and the exhaust gasses will flow a lot faster than e dual cat back system. So I guess he chose function over form..
